Mindless Vandals Once Again Target Armagh Cricket Club Equipment
Disgraceful Scenes On The Mall On Sunday Morning
Cricket Practice Net The Latest Target Of Vandals On The Mall
It was incredibly disheartening to witness such blatant vandalism on the Mall this morning. Armagh Cricket Club’s new practice net had been forcibly removed from its designated area (by cutting the ropes) and had been pushed over, potentially causing significant and costly structural damage.
This act of destruction would appear to be the work of more than just a solitary individual or unruly children, making it all the more upsetting to realize that some people would deliberately choose to engage in this kind of behavior on a Saturday night.
The club have reached out to the Police in Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon, who will be investigating and reviewing all available CCTV footage.
If anyone has information regarding this incident or knows who may be involved, we would urge you to contact the police by dialling 101 - quoting reference number 698 17/11/24.
It’s deeply frustrating to think about the young aspiring players who are so passionate about their sport but could be deprived of their crucial summer cricket experience due to such senseless actions.
This is not the first time that the club have been targeted - it was as recently as September when new rain covers were badly damaged.
We all should be filled with a mix of anger and sadness over what this reflects in our society!
